The estimated annual costs of corrosion based on the gross national product (GNP) of the GCC States in 2004 are as follows: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, $13.031 billion, Kuwait, $ 2.170 billion, United Arab Emirates, $ 3.690 billion, Sultanate of Oman, $ 1.128 billion, Qatar, $ 1.062 billion, Kingdom of Bahrain, $ 0.500 billion.
The total cost of corrosion in the GCC States is expected to increase in the future due to the rise of water cut and H2S contents in the aging reservoirs. As a result of increasing crude oil corrosivity, the cost of combating corrosion in GCC refineries will increase.

Hence, Jubail 1st Corrosion Conference & Exhibition is organized by the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbua as the premier event fully dedicated for Corrosion Management in Jubail Industrial City being the host of the highest concentration of major industries in the region, and have a very high corrosion potential due to several factors such as high humidity, seawater, sabkha soil, flare emissions, industrial chemicals, industrial pollutions, etc.

Jubail Corrosion Conference & Exhibition represents a unique networking opportunity for corrosion management professionals, engineers, experts, and anyone interested in learning the latest on corrosion management and industry's trends.
